Hardware and Software Minimum Requirements:


The minimum hardware and software requirements for IWU's distance learning degree programs are:
  • Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2
  • Microsoft Office 2003 Standard (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)***^
  • 700 MHz CPU
  • 256 MB RAM
  • 20 GB Hard Drive
  • CD-ROM (DVD Drive recommended)
  • Sound card and speakers
  • 1024x768 resolution monitor
  • Internet access with 56K modem (Broadband recommended)
  • Email account
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, Netscape 7.1 or Firefox 1.0.x
***You will need to be able to open, read and edit documents in both Office 2003 and Office 2007. If you use Office 2003, you will need to download and install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack.

^Associate of Science in Computer Information Technology and Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems students will also need Microsoft Access 2003 or later.

NOTE: While you can access the virtual classroom website using an Apple computer, our distance learning technical support team cannot provide technical assistance for students using Apple computers. Many course textbooks have supplemental CD-ROM's that WILL NOT work on MACs. To successfully complete your degree program plan to use a personal computer running Microsoft Windows.
